Discover the rich colours and contrasts of Singapore in a uniquely enriching way, and find out more about the city’s harmonious blend of culture, cuisine and arts.

The 1st AMA Conference is held at the Marina Mandarin Singapore, a convenient location within walking distance to the Marina Bay shopping and entertainment hub.

It is connected to Marina Square Shopping Center, a shopping and entertainment complex. Other attractions such as the Suntec Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Esplanade and the Singapore Flyer are in close proximity.  The City Hall MRT station can be reached via an underpass. Here are three different routes that you can consider for your visit.

Route A – Arts and Tourism Icons
The Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, located at the picturesque waterfront overlooking Marina Bay, is Singapore’s most exciting performance arts venue to date. It is just a 5-minute walk away from the conference venue. The Esplanade houses a 1,600-seat concert hall, a 2,000-seat theatre and several recital rooms, theatre and rehearsal studios as well as outdoor performing spaces.

You can also take a walk across the Esplanade Bridge to the Merlion Park that fronts Marina Bay. The Merlion was first designed as an emblem for the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) in 1964 – the lion head with a fish body resting on a crest of waves quickly became Singapore’s icon to the rest of the world.

One of the newest attractions in Singapore is the Singapore Flyer, also a short distance away from the conference venue. It is a giant observation wheel that features brilliant engineering breakthroughs which distinguish it from the traditional Ferris wheel.  It is set to be one of Asia's most visible iconic visitor attraction.

Route B – Shopping and Dining
Marina Square Shopping Centre
, connected to the conference venue, is one of the larger shopping malls in Singapore. It comprises four levels of shopping with more than 300 exquisite shops and food outlets in an exciting shop mix with a Cineplex and bowling centre.

The Suntec City Mall, the largest shopping mall in Singapore, showcases a wide selection of famous brand names alongside Singapore specialty stores. At the 'heart' and civic core of the mall is the Fountain of Wealth, certified as the world's largest fountain by The Guinness Book of Records in 1998.

Route C – Heritage and Local Food
For a taste of Singapore's Chinese heritage, visit Chinatown – the original site where Chinese immigrants lived, worked and played. Much of Chinatown has recently been renovated, but their traditions and much of the architecture have survived the test of time.

You can reach Chinatown via MRT (the North-East Line to Chinatown MRT) which can be taken from the City Hall MRT Station. The City Hall MRT Station is about a 7-minute walk away from the conference venue and be reached by walking through a covered air-conditioned City Link Mall.

After a day of sightseeing, head on down for delicious cuisine and local delights. Take a stroll to Chinatown Food Street where you can savour the best of delectable local cuisine and try local favourites like Char Kway Teow (fried broad noodles) and Rojak (vegetable salad in peanut gravy) served from rows of outdoor hawker stalls that hark back to an earlier era.
