  • 1st Asian Mediation Association (AMA) Conference 4-5 June 2009

    Mediation Diversity – Asia & Beyond
    The Asian Mediation Association (AMA) was proud to present the 1st AMA Conference. The inaugural Conference – “Mediation Diversity – Asia and Beyond” was hosted by the Singapore Mediation Centre (SMC) from 4 – 5 June 2009. The Conference was attended by over 300 participants from 19 countries. The goal of the conference was to boost the mediation movement, particularly in Asia, by providing a forum for the exchange of the latest ideas and developments in mediation and by providing a platform for networking. President Martti Ahtisaari, 2008 Nobel Peace Prize winner and former President of Finland, was the keynote speaker at the Conference.

  • 1st AMA Chairman-Designate

    We are pleased to announce that Mr George Lim Teong Jin, a past President of the Law Society of Singapore and a member of the SMC’s Board of Directors is the 1st AMA Chairman-Designate. He has been a staunch supporter and intimately involved in the development of mediation in Singapore. The term of office of the AMA Chairman shall be two years beginning 1st January 2009.

    DMC is the latest member of AMA with the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU)

  • 1st AMA Conference 2009 - Call for Papers
     
    In conjunction with the AMA Inaugural Conference, AMA welcomes academics, scholars, researchers, practitioners and other interested individuals and organisations to present papers on any of the topics mentioned in the attached Call for Papers. The papers should cover mediation-related ideas, theories, practice or experience in your country that may be useful to developing mediation in other countries.
    Papers should ideally provide practical lessons which will advance the field or practice of mediation.
